According to a Rusagotrans forecast, the sunseed production in Russia will reach a record 17.1 million tons in 2022(15.6 in 2021).

– In August, 2,697 million tons of wheat were exported from Russia (+1,592 compared to July), including 877,000 tons for Egypt, 559,000 tons for Turkey and 262,000 tons for Saudi Arabia.  Barley exports reached a record 0.85 million tons in the month.

– As of September 8, 2022, 92.7 million tons of wheat (69.3 in 2021/22), 22.2 million tons of barley (17.2), 202,600 tons of corn (409,600), 790,400 tons of sunseed (820,300) were harvested in Russia. The previous record for the wheat production, which was set in 2017 – 86 million tons, has already been improved.

– In the week starting on 14.09.2022, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 2,962.9 rubles/ton (3,368.9 a week earlier). The export tax on barley will be 2,717.7 rubles/ton (2,699.2) and the export tax on corn will be 3,784.4 rubles/ton (3,663.7).

– Over the period of 01.07 – 09.09.2022, 5.291 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine (993,000 in September). A year earlier, exports were 10.29 million tons (1,666). 1,651 million tons of wheat (5,922 last season), 447,000 tons of barley (2,992) and 3,174 million tons of corn (1,338) were exported.

– In Ukraine, 19.2 million tons of wheat (99% of the area), 5.5 million tons of barley (100%), 18,400 tons of corn (0.09%) were harvested at an average yield of 4.72 tons/hectare.

– According to Imea’s forecast, soybean areas in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso will be 29.1 million hectares in 2022/23 (+2.9% compared to 2021/22), and soybean production is projected at 41.5 million tons (+1.5%). Corn areas will be 7.27 million hectares (+1.8%), and corn production is estimated at 45.5 million tons (+3.8%).

– According to data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, the frosts in Argentina’s grain belt have had a negative impact on wheat crops. The cultivated areas were reduced for the season to 6.1 million hectares (6.7 last year).

– According to Oil World data, in July sunflower imports to Turkey were 140,000 tons (14,000 in July 2021). 107,000 tons of sunflower were delivered from Ukraine, and since the beginning of the season, imports from Ukraine reached 308,000 tons. Turkey’s total sunflower imports during the season reached 569,000 tons (833,000). In July, the import of sunflower oil was 34,000 tons (43,000), incl. from Ukraine 28,000 tonnes (6,000) and Russia 6,000 tonnes (32,000). Imports of sunflower meal were 41,000 tons (29,000), and from the beginning of the season 695,000 tons.

– According to data from Oil World, global soybean exports reached 10.06 million tons in August (11.07 in July and 9.83 in August 2021). Brazil exported 6.09 million tons of soybeans (7.51 and 6.48), Argentina exported 0.3 million tons (0.43 and 1.47), Uruguay exported 0.59 million tons (0.57 and 0.2), Bolivia exported 0.5 million tons (0.051 in August 2021) and the United States exported 2.9 million tons of soybeans (2.15 and 1.17). Deliveries to China were 5.56 million tons (6.36 and 6.17).
